Performance Update/Why Antivirus flags the game (Working on a fix!)
Hi everyone!
In addition to now having a trailer, the game is now more accessible.
Just put an update out to help with performance.
There are a few options in the main menu to choose from. Mostly it changes shadows and resolution scaling.
In addition, the pause button is now escape! The old P button still works, but I thought it best to give some more options. :]
That's all for now! Finals week is chaotic, but I have plans to update things soon!
Update: Apparently windows thinks the file is a virus, and so I'll have to figure out why that is and how to fix it. It's a false positive but man is it throwing me for a ringer! This seems to be a common thing for games made in the Unreal Engine that are put into an EXE file. I'll keep you updated!
Update: So Windows thinks it's a virus because I'm a noob at programming. The settings that let you change graphics settings are... apparently poorly constructed. Here's the reason as far as I can tell: When you save your graphics settings, the game creates a small .ini file which saves your preferences. However, I forgot to make it save that file in a relevant location. What this means is that when programs such as Windows Defender scan through it, all they see is a program that has the ability to create files in directories it normally wouldn't access at all, and so it assumes this means it is a virus, and thus blocks the file. This is killing me and there is unfortunately nothing I can do about it until next week because the computer is at school and I am not! AGH! Sorry for the inconvenience! I will keep you updated!
